Media buyer — for beginners

Training

A media buyer purchases ads against a task: a team or advertiser brief, a spend cap and one action to get. An arbitrage specialist counts their own gap on someone else's offer. The buyer counts the action cost inside the cap they were given. This chapter is about how the buy is built, not about a page editor. A tool for a text draft can wait. The decision about where the budget goes stays in the ad cabinet.

In the cabinet the campaign answers “which action we count”. The ad set answers “who we show it to and with what cap”. The ad answers “what the person sees”. Mixing these three levels breaks the report: you cannot tell whether the audience or the picture is at fault. The first test is built like this: one campaign, one ad set, two ads. Two ads are there so you can compare the creative. A second ad set starts only after the first one has numbers.

A campaign is optimized for one event: a page view, a lead, a purchase or another action from the brief. If that event does not arrive from the site or the app, the cabinet optimizes for clicks while the brief asked for leads. Those are different tasks. Before spend, you check that a test action reaches the cabinet. Until it does, you do not turn the budget on.

An ad says three things: who it is for, what is offered and what the next step is. The picture and the first line carry one idea. A second idea does not go into the same creative. For the first test you make two versions of one idea, not ten different offers. You compare them inside the same ad set. Otherwise the number mixes the audience and the picture again.

First you see whether the ad is seen: the cost of a thousand impressions and the click rate. Then the cost of a click. The buyer's main number is the cost of one needed action next to the cap from the brief. If the action costs more than the brief allows, you stop the ad or the ad set. Likes and comments do not replace that cost. You can notice them, but the decision follows the action in the brief.

In the first launch you change one thing: the picture or the text, not the audience together with them. You write down what you changed, what the cap was and what the action cost came out to. The next day you compare with that note, not with a feeling. Someone else's cabinet, someone else's pixel and a promise that is not in the brief do not belong in the test.

On CPA Aggregator the Launch master is a step-by-step flow in AI Desk. The «Launch by steps» panel opens on the right: you move through the steps, and the assistant saves each choice on the task and helps you take the bundle to ads or traffic. It is not a separate bot or a magic button. The decisions stay with you; the assistant opens the catalog, cases, cabinets and a campaign draft with its tools.

You can start from a case in the public feed: read the numbers and the bundle, then try to repeat it — the assistant maps offer, source and stream from the case when they exist in the catalog. You can also skip a case: state a hypothesis in your own words — which offer, source, geo and test budget. The assistant clarifies and walks the same master steps.

The first step is one offer from the catalog. You read the action, geo, allowed sources, hold and cap. The assistant can open the card and search by keywords; you confirm the pick. Do not mix a second offer into the same test. Until the offer is chosen, source and budget stay discussion only.

The source is where the person comes from: Facebook, Google, TikTok, Telegram, UBT and other platforms on the list. The stream is the format inside the source: Reels, feed, search, a channel placement, push, and so on. The source must be allowed on the offer. The stream must match how you will actually show the creative. You do not swap source and stream every message without saving on the task — the master records the choice.

Geo and budget are the test country or region and the spend cap for the first days. For a live launch in Meta or Google Ads the next step is your ad cabinet: connect it, keep spend paused, check the tracked link. The assistant does not turn spend on without a clear yes from you. You add the payment method. The agent's daily cap stays within the cabinet rules.

The creative is copy, image or video under the offer and source rules. The assistant may suggest variants from the offer or a draft; send and turn the campaign on only with your control. After all steps you see the bundle on the task and in the master on the right. Then reports, pause or scale follow the numbers from chapter one, not a feeling.
